Memorial Garden at Hazlehead Cemetry
The Sands Garden at the Hazlehead Cemetry was opened by the Lord Provost in June 2014. Aberdeen SANDS funded the creation of the garden and is dedicated to the memory of all babies who have died.
A wall surrounds a memorial stone engraved with the words ‘To the world a baby, to us the world, briefly in our lives forever in our hearts’ The garden also includes three oak benches with inscriptions on which parents and families can sit and reflect.
It is a tranquil place where parents, families and anyone else affected by the loss of a baby can visit and remember their baby in peace.
Memorial Stone at Hazlehead Crematorium
Aberdeen SANDS have also erected a small memorial stone up at Hazlehead Crematorium where families can visit and remember their baby.
